Batman: Arkham City DLC – Harley Quinn’s Revenge – PS3/XBOX Review

WARNING: contains spoilers for those not having played Batman: Arkham City to it’s completion.

After the shocking death of the Joker at the end of Batman: Arkham City, one question has been on everybody’s minds; is the Joker really dead? Sadly… Arkham City’s new DLC, Harley Quinn’s Revenge does not answer this question. Not much in terms of story can be found in fact. This is due mostly to it’s incredibly short length with no more than a couple of hours total gameplay.

Harley Quinn Revenge DLC Battman Arkham CityHarley Quinn’s Revenge takes place shortly after the events of Arkham City’s conclusion. Batman has since been taken prisoner by the remnants of the Joker’s gang, now controlled by Harley Quinn. Much of Harley Quinn’s Revenge is played in control of Robin who was only seen briefly in Arkham City’s main campaign and in his own challenge map DLC. His unique gadgetry is refreshing, especially the bullet shield which Batman seems to be sorely lacking. You will not be able to fully enjoy or even possibly get acquainted with his abilities in this add-on’s dreadfully short campaign however.

Harley Quinn’s Revenge is better described as a brief episodic supplemental add-on chapter than a full-fledged game. It actually feels more like a demo of a more complete came. What little gameplay that is present is decent enough though, if not a bit rushed. $9.99 however is just not a good value for such a lack of content and therefore simply cannot be widely recommended. Harley Quinn’s Revenge is playable in accompany with the Batman: Arkham City disc as a digital download or on the Batman: Arkham City Game Of The Year Edition bundled with all other available DLC packages.
