(PSN)(News) Updates on PSN Outage – 80710092 Errors

Currently the PlayStation Network is down, not due to Anon attacks however due to what appears to be unexpected server maintenance or possibly propaganda against Anon. If there were indeed Anon attacks on the PlayStation Network we would see spotty connections and a possible ability to connect and see your online friends. This is not the case. If you are seeing a “80710092″ error at this moment do not panic, this will be resolved when Sony brings the PlayStation Network back online! If you are sure that the servers are back online and you continue to receive error code “80710092″ or “80710092A” you will need to update your DNS.

To update your DNS follow this path in your PlayStation 3′s main menu:

Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings > Custom > Custom Connection Method > Manual Settings > Scroll to DNS Settings – Select Manual > Input Ports 8.8.8.8 for your Primary and 8.8.4.4 for Secondary.
You may need to restart your PlayStation 3

There are several DNS you will be able to use that are public, you just need to do a little research to find them. (8.8.8.8 – 8.8.4.4 are Google’s public DNS).

More information on Anon Attacks:
Anonymous has released another public announcement stating that they have stopped attacking the PSN.

PSN back online as of 11:45PM EST GMT-5
