On February 6th, 2011 we received some very exciting news regarding our beloved Battlefield series. EA games, along with DICE announced that Battlefield 3 will be released to your favorite game console as well as your own personal computer.
Battlefield 3 will introduce the unique game engine, “Frostbite 2″, which is known for taking animation, destructible terrain, lighting, scale and audio to a completely new level. Time and time again, the Battlefield series brings its gamers to new heights of realism, giving them that signature emotional feeling that the fans seek. This will truly be an FPS with no comparison to any other.
Battlefield 3 will take us to several new and familiar locations as well as some that exist in Battlefield 2. Battles will involve up to 64 players in combat (24 for console) and take place in the United States, Middle East and Europe, over terrain stated on the EA websites described as, “claustrophobic streets, metropolitan downtowns, and open, vehicle-friendly landscapes as you fight your way through the war of tomorrow.”
